Description

Deliciously soft and buttery sugar cookies that melt in your mouth, perfect for any gathering.


Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3/4 cup white sugar for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and get ready for some magic in your kitchen.
  2. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder. Set it aside.
  3. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and white sugar until the mixture is beautifully smooth and creamy. Beat in the egg, aromatic vanilla extract, and rich almond extract.
  4. Gradually blend in those dry ingredients you set aside, mixing until just combined.
  5. Roll rounded teaspoonfuls of dough into little balls and place them onto ungreased cookie sheets.
  6. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass and sprinkle with a little bit of sugar on top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until they turn a lovely golden hue. Let the cookies cool on wire racks, and enjoy!
