Description
A cozy fall treat, these Air Fryer Apple Fries transform apples into tender, crispy fries, served with caramel or yogurt.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Prep the apples: Peel (optional) and cut the apples into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel to remove any excess moisture.
- Set up coating stations:
- Bowl 1: Add flour for dredging.
- Bowl 2: In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and milk together until combined.
- Bowl 3: Mix panko breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon to create a delightful coating.
- Coat the apples: Dredge each apple stick in the flour, dip it into the egg mixture, then coat it well with the breadcrumb mixture.
- Air fry: Lightly spray the coated apple fries with nonstick spray. Place them in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
- Cook: Air fry at 380°F (190°C) for 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
- Serve: Enjoy these warm air fryer apple fries with a drizzle of caramel dip, a dollop of yogurt, or a fluffy cloud of whipped cream.
Notes
For a sweeter touch, consider tossing the fries in cinnamon and sugar after air-frying.
