- 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir until the apples are well coated.
- Pour the apple mixture into a baking dish.
- In another bowl, mix together the oats, flour, granulated sugar, and softened butter until crumbly. You can also add in chopped nuts if desired.
- Spread the crumb topping evenly over the apple mixture in the baking dish.
- Bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
- Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for that extra indulgence.
Notes
For added flavor, use a mix of sweet and tart apples. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
