Description

A cozy fall dessert featuring warm, baked apples and a crisp topping, perfect for family gatherings and chilly evenings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Stir until the apples are well coated.
  3. Pour the apple mixture into a baking dish.
  4. In another bowl, mix together the oats, flour, granulated sugar, and softened butter until crumbly. You can also add in chopped nuts if desired.
  5. Spread the crumb topping evenly over the apple mixture in the baking dish.
  6. Bake for about 30-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden brown.
  7. Serve warm, optionally with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for that extra indulgence.

Notes

For added flavor, use a mix of sweet and tart apples. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
