Description

A delightful Chicken Shawarma seasoned with warm spices and topped with a creamy garlic sauce, wrapped in pita bread.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb chicken thighs
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Pita bread or wraps for serving
  • Lettuce, tomato, and onion for topping
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Mix the olive oil, cumin, coriander, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Add the chicken thighs, coating them well.
  2. Marinate for at least 1 hour, or preferably overnight, for the best flavor.
  3. Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat.
  4. Cook the marinated chicken for about 5-7 minutes per side until fully cooked and golden.
  5. Prepare the garlic sauce by whisking together mayonnaise, minced garlic, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Rest the chicken for a few minutes, then slice it thinly.
  7. Serve the sliced chicken in pita bread or wraps, topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and drizzle the garlic sauce on top.

Notes

For additional flavor, marinate the chicken overnight. You can also customize the toppings according to your preference.
