- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup whipped cream (Cool Whip)
- 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a medium bowl and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
- Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually mix it into the butter mixture until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let it cool completely.
- Mix the melted chocolate with the whipped cream in a separate bowl until smooth.
- Spread the chocolate silk mixture generously on top of the cooled brownies.
- Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.
Notes
For extra crunch, add chopped nuts to the batter. Can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge.
