Description

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whipped cream (Cool Whip)
  • 4 ounces semi-sweet chocolate, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking pan.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter in a medium bowl and stir in the granulated sugar until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Sift together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually mix it into the butter mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let it cool completely.
  7. Mix the melted chocolate with the whipped cream in a separate bowl until smooth.
  8. Spread the chocolate silk mixture generously on top of the cooled brownies.
  9. Chill in the refrigerator for at least one hour before serving.

Notes

For extra crunch, add chopped nuts to the batter. Can be made a day ahead and stored in the fridge.
