Description

A cozy weeknight dinner featuring creamy cottage cheese and tender chicken, wrapped in marinara and topped with melted cheeses.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded or diced
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Fresh basil, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grab a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the cooked chicken, cottage cheese, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl. Mix until well combined.
  3. Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of the baking dish.
  4. Layer the chicken-cottage cheese mixture over the sauce, spreading it evenly.
  5. Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the chicken mixture.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese over the top.
  7. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the oven, let it rest for a few minutes, and garnish with fresh basil. Scoop it into bowls and enjoy!

Notes

Feel free to customize with your favorite vegetables or substitute ricotta cheese for a creamier texture.
