Description

Ingredients

  • 4 overripe bananas
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 2 large eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and grease your loaf pan.
  2. Mash the overripe bananas until smooth and set aside.
  3. Cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar for about 2 to 3 minutes until fluffy.
  4. Add in the eggs, mashed banana, and vanilla extract into the creamed mixture and beat well.
  5. Sift the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt into the wet mixture. Gently fold until just combined.
  6. Fold in three-fourths of the chocolate chips, then transfer the batter to your prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for about 50 to 60 minutes until set and golden brown.
  8. Allow the banana bread to cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

For added flavor, consider mixing in nuts or spices. Store leftovers tightly wrapped for up to 3 days.
