Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Irish whiskey (or apple juice)
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup walnuts or pecans (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a bundt pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Stir in the sour cream and Irish whiskey until well combined.
  5. Whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in another bowl.
  6. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Fold in the walnuts or pecans if using.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.
  9. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  10. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting onto a wire rack.
