Description

A comforting twist on classic sloppy joes featuring garlic bread and rich flavors, perfect for family dinners or cozy gatherings.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 4 slices of Italian bread
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 2 tbsp butter, softened
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and onion until the beef is browned and the onion is softened.
  2. Add the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Stir in the marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper; let it simmer for about 5 minutes.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the softened butter with the garlic powder until creamy.
  5. Spread the garlic butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  6. Place the bread slices, buttered side up, on a baking sheet.
  7. Spoon the sloppy joe mixture onto each slice of bread and top with mozzarella cheese.
  8. Broil in the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes.
  9. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve immediately.

Make sure to keep an eye on the bread while broiling to achieve the perfect golden brown.
