Description

Crispy, savory roasted cabbage steaks drizzled with balsamic vinegar, perfect as a healthy side dish or main meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of cabbage
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (like Parmesan or mozzarella)
  • Balsamic vinegar for drizzling

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut the cabbage into thick slices or ‘steaks’.
  3. Mix together the olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  4. Brush the mixture generously onto both sides of the cabbage steaks.
  5. Place the cabbage steaks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Roast in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy.
  7. Sprinkle with cheese and return to the oven for an additional 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar before serving. Enjoy your healthy side or main dish!

Notes

Slice your cabbage steaks thickly (about 1-inch) to prevent burning. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to three days.
