A refreshing and nostalgic dessert combining strawberries, a salty pretzel crust, and a creamy filling.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 oz strawberry Jell-O mix
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 16 oz strawberries (fresh or frozen, hulled & sliced)
  • 2 1/2 cups salted pretzels (measured before crushing)
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 8 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 8 oz Cool Whip (thawed in refrigerator)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the 6 oz strawberry Jell-O mix into the 2 cups of boiling water in a medium bowl. Stir until fully dissolved.
  2. Add the sliced strawberries to the Jell-O mixture and set it aside to cool.
  3. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Crush the salted pretzels until fine and chunky in a medium bowl.
  5. Melt the 3/4 cup unsalted butter and mix it with the crushed pretzels and 3 tbsp granulated sugar until well combined.
  6. Press this mixture into the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool completely.
  7. Beat the 8 oz softened cream cheese with 1/2 cup granulated sugar until smooth.
  8. Fold in the 8 oz Cool Whip until fluffy.
  9. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly on top of the pretzel base.
  10. Pour the Jell-O and strawberry layer over the cream cheese filling.
  11. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight.
