Ingredients
Scale
- 2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup milk
- 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
- 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon butter for greasing the baking dish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter, ensuring it’s ready for those creamy layers of goodness.
- Combine the heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and let those flavors marry.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish. Sprinkle a handful of cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top.
- Pour half of the creamy mixture over the potatoes, letting it seep into the layers below.
- Repeat with the second half of the potatoes, another sprinkle of cheese, and the remaining cream mixture. Finish with a final layer of potatoes, topped generously with parmesan cheese.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
- Let the dish sit for about 10 minutes before serving.
