Description

Delightful and creamy Au Gratin Potatoes that offer a perfect blend of cheeses, making them the ultimate comfort food for any occasion.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 pounds potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter for greasing the baking dish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish with butter, ensuring it’s ready for those creamy layers of goodness.
  2. Combine the heavy cream, milk, minced garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Mix well and let those flavors marry.
  3. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the greased baking dish. Sprinkle a handful of cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top.
  4. Pour half of the creamy mixture over the potatoes, letting it seep into the layers below.
  5. Repeat with the second half of the potatoes, another sprinkle of cheese, and the remaining cream mixture. Finish with a final layer of potatoes, topped generously with parmesan cheese.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes. Then, remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let the dish sit for about 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Leftover Au Gratin Potatoes can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven for the best results.
