Description

A delicious and easy recipe for BBQ pulled chicken made in the crockpot, perfect for sandwiches and casual gatherings.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts, trimmed
  • 1 1/4 cup barbecue sauce
  • 1/2 cup Italian dressing
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Spray the inside of a large crockpot with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Season the chicken with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Place the chicken in the bottom of the crockpot.
  4. Whisk together the barbecue sauce, Italian dressing, light brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.
  5. Pour the marinade mixture over the chicken, ensuring it’s coated.
  6. Cover and cook on high for 2.5-3 hours or low for 5-6 hours.
  7. Check that the chicken has reached 165°F with a meat thermometer.
  8. Shred the chicken with two forks in the crockpot or serve whole.

Notes

For a zesty twist, add citrus juice or mix in smoked paprika for a smoky flavor.
