- 4 large potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Blend the sour cream, milk, melted butter, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a large mixing bowl until smooth and creamy.
- Layer the sliced potatoes in a greased baking dish, pouring half of the luscious sour cream mixture over the top. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
- Add another layer of potatoes, followed by the remaining sour cream mixture. Top with the rest of the cheddar cheese and sprinkle with Parmesan cheese if desired.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and continue to bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Let it sit for a few moments before serving.
Notes
This casserole can be prepared ahead of time and stored in the fridge for up to 24 hours before baking. Leftovers can be kept in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days.
