Description

Delightful and easy Cherry Danish that brings warmth and comfort, perfect for brunch or a quick dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 can cherry pie filling
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares.
  3. Mix together the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Place a generous spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
  5. Top each with a dollop of cherry pie filling.
  6. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and pinch to seal.
  7. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Make the cream cheese filling a day ahead to save time. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days.
