- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 can cherry pie filling
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares.
- Mix together the softened cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Place a generous spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each pastry square.
- Top each with a dollop of cherry pie filling.
- Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and pinch to seal.
- Brush the tops with beaten egg.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, then dust with powdered sugar if desired.
Notes
Make the cream cheese filling a day ahead to save time. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to two days.
