Description

A comforting bowl of fragrant rice topped with marinated steak, fresh avocado, and zesty cilantro lime juice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb steak (such as flank or sirloin)
  • 2 cups cooked rice (white or brown)
  • 1 avocado, sliced
  • 1 cup cilantro, chopped
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine lime juice, minced garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Marinate the steak for at least 30 minutes.
  2. Grill or pan-sear the steak on medium-high heat for 5-7 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
  3. Let the steak rest for a few moments before slicing it against the grain.
  4. Layer the fluffy rice in a serving bowl, then top with sliced steak, avocado, and chopped cilantro.
  5. Drizzle with additional lime juice if desired and serve promptly.

Notes

For make-ahead magic, marinate your steak the night before. Slice against the grain for tenderness.
