Description

A delicious and nostalgic club sandwich loaded with crispy turkey bacon, fresh veggies, and creamy mayo.


Ingredients

  • 8 slices of whole grain bread
  • 8 slices of turkey bacon
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1 avocado, sliced or mashed
  • 1 cup crisp lettuce (like romaine or butter lettuce)
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise (or Greek yogurt)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional: slices of cheese (cheddar or Swiss)

Instructions

  1. Cook the turkey bacon in a skillet over medium heat until crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Set aside on paper towels to drain excess grease.
  2. Toast your slices of whole grain bread until golden and crispy.
  3. Prepare the tomato and avocado. If using, season the avocado with salt and pepper.
  4. Assemble the sandwich by spreading mayonnaise on one slice of toast. Add lettuce, turkey bacon, tomato, and avocado.
  5. Build height by spreading mayonnaise on another piece of toast and stacking it on top. Repeat layering with lettuce, bacon, tomato, and avocado.
  6. Finish with a final slice of toast, secure with toothpicks, and slice diagonally to reveal the layers.

Notes

Assemble the sandwich just before serving to keep the bread crispy. Use a serrated knife for clean slices.
