Description
Delight in this heartwarming Apple Dapple Cake, filled with tender apples and warm spices, perfect for cozy gatherings and autumn celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups diced apples
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13 inch pan for an easy release.
- Combine the diced apples, flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, baking soda, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl, mixing well to coat the apples in that sweet spice mixture.
- Whisk together the melted butter, eggs, vanilla extract, and milk in another bowl until well combined and creamy.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry mixture and gently mix until just combined. Remember, we don’t want to overmix— a few lumps are perfectly fine!
- Pour the cake batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly, the apples peeking through the thick batter creating sweet promises of flavor.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean, revealing a golden, tender texture.
- Allow the cake to cool before serving. For an indulgent touch, drizzle with a buttery brown sugar glaze if desired!
Notes
For variation, add nuts, swap apples, or top with ice cream for extra indulgence. Make the batter a day in advance for convenience.
