Description

Delight in these golden, crispy waffles that bring the family together for a cozy breakfast or brunch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. Whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl until combined.
  3. Beat the eggs in another bowl and then stir in the milk, oil (or melted butter), and vanilla extract.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and gently stir until just combined.
  5. Lightly grease the waffle iron if necessary, then pour enough batter to cover the surface.
  6. Close the lid and cook until golden brown and crispy, about 5 minutes.
  7. Carefully remove the waffle and repeat with the remaining batter. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

Make-ahead option: Prepare the batter the night before and store in the fridge. Customize with toppings like chocolate chips or fresh fruit.
