Description

A cozy bowl of spaghetti with Italian sausage and rich tomato sauce, perfect for a family dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 pound Italian sausage
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

  1. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned. Remove from heat and drain excess fat.
  3. Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the skillet. Sauté until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Stir in the crushed tomatoes along with the Italian seasoning. Allow the sauce to simmer for 10-15 minutes.
  5. Return the cooked sausage to the skillet. Mix well and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Serve the sauce over the spaghetti and top with fresh Parmesan cheese.

Notes

Make the sauce ahead of time and store it in the fridge for up to three days. Experiment with different cheeses for topping.
