Description

A delightful French dessert featuring baked strawberries in a creamy custard, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled and quartered
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Butter for greasing the baking dish
  • Powdered sugar for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Lightly butter a medium-sized baking dish (about 8×8 inches).
  3. Whisk together the eggs, milk, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  4. Gently whisk in the flour and salt until just combined.
  5. Fold in the quartered strawberries gently into the batter.
  6. Pour the batter into your prepared baking dish.
  7. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before dusting with powdered sugar.
  9. Slice into wedges and serve warm or at room temperature.
