- ¼ tsp salt
- ½ cup (115 grams) unsalted butter
- ¾ cup (150 grams) granulated sugar
- ¼ cup (60 mL) water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Cream the softened butter with granulated and powdered sugars until light and fluffy.
- Blend in the eggs, vanilla extract, and butter extract until well combined.
- Fold in the flour, baking powder, and salt, mixing minimally.
- Roll the dough into 1.5-inch spheres and flatten on the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are set but centers are slightly underdone.
- Cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
- Melt the remaining butter and mix in sugar and water until dissolved, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Brush or drizzle the glaze over warm cookies, allowing it to soak in.
- Cool completely to let the glaze solidify.
