Description

A healthier alternative to traditional sausage, these homemade chicken breakfast patties are flavorful, quick, and perfect for meal prep.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground chicken
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried sage
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, sage, paprika, and red pepper flakes. Mix until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until browned and cooked through.
  4. Serve hot as part of your breakfast, alongside fresh eggs or whole-grain toast.

Notes

Sausage mixture can be prepared in advance and stored in the refrigerator overnight for quicker cooking. Patties freeze well for up to three months.
