- 1 package of cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 package of puff pastry dough
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Mix the softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
- Roll out the puff pastry dough on a lightly floured surface and cut it into squares.
- Place a generous spoonful of the cream cheese mixture right in the center of each square.
- Fold the corners of the pastry towards the center and pinch to seal them tight.
- Brush the tops of the folded pastries with the beaten egg to give them a beautiful golden finish.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes or until the danishes are golden brown and puffy.
- Remove from the oven and let them cool slightly on a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
For variations, consider adding fresh blueberries, lemon zest, nuts, or chocolate chips to the filling. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
