Description

A creamy, nostalgic ice cream recipe that captures the essence of summer and family gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Ice and rock salt (for churning)

Instructions

  1. Combine the heavy cream, whole milk, granulated sugar, salt, and vanilla extract in a large mixing bowl until well combined.
  2. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
  3. Prepare your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  4. Churn the ice cream mixture according to your ice cream maker’s instructions (about 20-25 minutes).
  5. Check for soft serve consistency, and transfer to a container. For firmer ice cream, freeze for an additional 2 hours.
  6. Serve in bowls or cones and enjoy with family and friends!

Notes

Make-ahead suggestion: chill the base overnight for better churning. Store any leftover ice cream in an airtight container.
