A comforting one pot mac and cheese that is quick to make and perfect for busy weeknights.
Ingredients

- 2 cups macaroni
- 4 cups water or broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)
Instructions
- Bring the water or broth to a boil in a large pot. Add the macaroni and cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes.
- Drain excess water if necessary and return the pot to the stovetop.
- Add the butter to the hot macaroni and stir until melted.
- Pour in the milk and stir well.
- Gradually add the cheese, stirring continuously until it melts.
- Season with salt, pepper, and the optional spices.
- Cook for a few more minutes until everything is heated through, then serve warm.
Notes
Feel free to mix different cheeses or add cooked veggies for a twist!
