Description

A comforting one pot mac and cheese that is quick to make and perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups macaroni
  • 4 cups water or broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Bring the water or broth to a boil in a large pot. Add the macaroni and cook until al dente, about 7-8 minutes.
  2. Drain excess water if necessary and return the pot to the stovetop.
  3. Add the butter to the hot macaroni and stir until melted.
  4. Pour in the milk and stir well.
  5. Gradually add the cheese, stirring continuously until it melts.
  6. Season with salt, pepper, and the optional spices.
  7. Cook for a few more minutes until everything is heated through, then serve warm.

Notes

Feel free to mix different cheeses or add cooked veggies for a twist!
