Description
A comforting dish that combines pasta and crispy bread in a delightful meal perfect for chilly evenings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound spaghetti
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Salt, to taste
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 large loaves of bread (like sourdough or French bread)
- Fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Prepare garlic oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing until the garlic is fragrant—about 1-2 minutes.
- Combine pasta and garlic: Add the drained spaghetti to the skillet, tossing it to coat in the garlic oil. Season with salt to taste, then stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice the top off each bread loaf and hollow out the inside, leaving a sturdy shell.
- Fill the bread bowls: Generously fill each hollowed bread bowl with the spaghetti mixture.
- Bake until crispy: Place the filled bread bowls on a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is crispy and golden.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
