Description

A creamy, tangy, and refreshing sauce perfect for dipping, spreading, or topping grilled meats.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1½ packed cups cucumber, grated
  • 2 tablespoons dill, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon mint, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • ½ teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Grate 1½ packed cups of cucumber using the large holes of a box grater.
  2. Drain the grated cucumber by squeezing out excess liquid with your hands.
  3. Combine the drained cucumber, Greek yogurt, dill, mint (if using), lemon juice, olive oil, garlic, and salt in a mixing bowl.
  4. Stir everything together until well combined. Taste and adjust salt if necessary.
  5. Let your Tzatziki rest in the fridge for 30 minutes to allow flavors to meld.
  6. Spread the Tzatziki on a serving plate, drizzle with olive oil, and garnish with fresh herbs and a sprinkle of paprika.
  7. Serve with warm pita or crunchy pita chips.

Notes

For a spicy kick, add cayenne pepper or jalapeños. Customize with lemon zest or fresh herbs.
